Rural Economy Select Committee and Committee on Climate Change Reports published

The House of Lords Select Committee on the Rural Economy reported earlier this week.  Not unsurprisingly tourism does feature within its recommendations but perhaps not as strongly as we might have hoped.  However, many of the non-tourism specific recommendation are of relevance to the sector:

The release of the Committee on Climate Change’s “Net Zero” report today has attracted a good deal of both media and political attention. If the independent advisory group’s recommendations, especially those around transport are adopted there are potential major strategic planning implications for UK tourism:
