Yesterday evening, 26 Mar 20, UK Government and HMRC published employers guidance on the UK job retention scheme. The new guidance clarifies many of the questions raised by employers and businesses since the scheme was announced last week. It is UK guidance. Yesterday’s announcements of support for the self-employed have prompted a host of questions, queries and objections, as did the employees scheme when it was announced. It is safe to assume that similar clarification and guidance will follow next week, probably in a similar time-frame (I.e. not before mid week?).
