The issue specific House of Lords Select Committee on Regenerating Seaside Towns and Communities which was created in May 2018 is now ready to proceed and is seeking written evidence, to be submitted by 9 October 2018.
There consultation document includes questions on the visitor economy and, as those familiar with coastal regeneration will appreciate, tourism is impacted by, or impacts upon most of the other wider social, economic and regeneration issues found within in popular seaside destinations and identified within the inquiry document. We will endeavour to respond on your behalf and would welcome comment from the membership to assist us in producing that response. Individual coastal destinations may also wish to respond themselves and are encouraged to do so, since weight as much as quality of evidence on similar themes will in our experience usually help shape the inquiry’s findings.
