The Department for Communities and Local Government’s (DCLG) good practice guidance for tourism planning (2006) has been superseded but the replacement, to be held by DCMS, has not yet been published (as at December 2013).   Efforts to get this oversight corrected are in hand, meanwhile the document continues to provide useful guidance:
